Boy Scouts Buckskin Council

Charleston, WV
7,700 square feet- New Construction; 4,770 square feet- Renovation
The Boy Scouts Buckskin Council has a beautiful, new facility that helps them meet their mission and double the area they serve. Pray Construction and Aric Margolis made the design-build team for the $3.7 million, 13,000 SF project. The original office, built 40 years earlier, was renovated and a new wing added. The new space includes a large activities area, showers, a store, and conference center. The timber frame entrance leads to a unique lobby space with vaulted ceilings, a 12-foot artificial tree which shades a park bench and a life-sized bronze sculpture of building’s name sake, H. Bernard Wehrle, Sr. A large deck sits above a fire ring near the river’s edge, perfect for local and visiting scouts.
